From the earliest days, the Society has always been noted for friendliness. The range of activities offered locally and nationally gives members plenty of opportunity to meet other keen gardeners and to share knowledge and ideas in a convivial atmosphere.
Over 40 local members' groups now cover most of England, Scotland and Wales with new ones starting up to meet demand. Most groups offer a range of activities for members, from garden and nursery visits to talks, social events and plant sales. Details of all the local groups and how to contact them can be found on the main groups page.
Specialist groups for Hardy Geraniums, Variegated Plants, Peonies, Pulmonarias and Half-Hardy Plants are also available for members to join, with members from around the U.K. and overseas.
For members unable to attend local group meetings the Correspondents Group provides a "Gardening by Post" service to keep members in touch with each other. Contact details can be found on the main groups page.
