Annual General Meeting
The 54th Annual General Meeting and Annual Lecture Day will be held on Saturday, 26th March 2011 in the Hampshire area.
Further details will be posted on this website when they become available and the agenda for the AGM will be sent to all members with the February 2011 newsletter.
Trustees
Trustees are the people who are responsible for the general control and management of the Hardy Plant Society, which is a registered charity (number 208080). There are 15 trustees with each trustee standing for three years. This means that five trustees are elected annually. Upon reaching the end of their term, a member may not seek immediate re-election.
Any member may stand for election as a Trustee. Nominations may be made by email or letter or through the traditional nomination forms that can be obtained from the administrator. Each nomination must be proposed and seconded. The proposer, who is responsible for making the nomination, must ensure that the nomination includes the names of the nominee, the proposer, the seconder and a statement that confirms the willingness of the nominee to stand. A brief statement of the nominees relevant interest and experience, such as horticultural/gardening experience and/or other activities such as committee work, management of organisations or other experience should be included. These statements will be published in the February newsletter, which is sent to all members.
Nominations must be sent to the Honarary Secretary to arrive no later than 31st December. Assuming that there are more than five valid nominations, ballot papers will be sent out with the February newsletter and the ballot will be conducted entirely by post.
