
The star is the double flowered form of Anemonopsis macrophylla. The normal version is a fine plant with its dangling, dusky-backed, white flowers in late summer. It is relatively easy to grow, requiring a good woodland soil that does not dry out in summer, and is not wet in winter. The plants are not cheap, but it is self-fertile and relatively easy from fresh seed so one plant can become a patch with a little effort.
