The Hardy Plant Society

Roy Lancaster, President of the HPS

The HPS is a charity that was formed to foster interest in hardy herbaceous plants on the widest possible scale. It aims to give its members information about the wealth of both well and little known plants, and to ensure that all worthy plants remain in cultivation and have the widest possible distribution.

Featured Group

This month, we feature the
HPS Nottinghamshire Group
An active group with about 150 members, the group holds meetings on the second Friday of the month from October until April in West Bridgford Community Hall.
In the summer, the group arranges three coach trips to inspirational gardens and evening visits to local members gardens.
The Nottingham Group also has its own botanic garden, which is open to the public from Easter to the end of September on Sundays from 2-4pm and open to HPS groups by appointment at other times.
