About the Group
The group meets at St. Mary's Parish Hall, North Bar Within, Beverley, HU17 8DL (map)
Our membership of over 130 members covers East Yorkshire, parts of North Yorkshire [Pickering, Malton & East of York] as well as North Lincolnshire.
Membership costs £3.00 per year + £1.50 per meeting, incl. Refreshments [£4.00 per meeting for visitors].
Indoor meetings are held at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Beverley on the 1st Thursday in the month [excl. August]. At the indoor meetings we hold a raffle with garden themed prizes and at most meetings we have a Members’ Plant Stall where plants propagated by members are sold on a percentage basis. Many of our visiting speakers also have their own nursery plant stall at our meetings.
From late Spring, we also organise a programme of visits to members’ gardens. The group has a plant display as well as a ‘plants for sale’ table at the annual Burton Agnes Plant Fair (26th and 27th May in 2012). Our annual Newsletter, published in November and free to members, comprises a mixture of long and short/shorter articles written by group members.
