About the Group
The Group meets at two venues, because we cover such a large geographic area. Visitors are welcome to all our meetings at either Pembridge Village Hall, near Leominster (map) or Llanigon Village Hall, near Hay-on-Wye (map). Meetings take place at 2pm on the 2nd Saturday in the month alternating at Pembridge and Llanigon, [excluding August and December]. Please check the programme for any variations in time and place. Membership costs £8 single, £14 for 2 people at the same address, renewable annually in January. Membership of the National Society is necessary in order to join the local group. Visitors are welcome to all our meetings at a cost of £3 each visit. At the indoor meetings we usually have a raffle, a group table of donated plants for sale and tables where plants propagated by members are sold on a percentage basis. Many of our visiting speakers also have their own nursery plant stall at our meetings.
In summer we organise a programme of garden visits. All garden visits need to be booked. Booking forms are sent out with the Group Spring Newsletter. Two Newsletter and one News Sheet are sent to members each year. We also operate a plant ‘Wants’ list for members.
