Stella and her husband have been gardening at Kevock Garden near Edinburgh since 1983, restoring and developing the garden and were featured in the March 2009 issue of The Garden in an article by Roy Lancaster. Stella will be bringing plants to buy from her own nursery.

Ron Davies
Ron is a member of both Cumbria and Scottish & Northern Borders HPS groups and is renowned as a knowledgeable grower of unusual plants. Now retired, Ron was head gardener at Winderwath gardens in Cumbria, tending the plants there for 24 years.

Trees, Shrubs and Climbers

Owners of the now closed Beamish Clematis Nursery, Jan and Colin are planning a new garden in the sheltered quarry where the nursery is sited. Colins speciality is clematis while Jans focus is trees and shrubs that grow well in the North-East.

A wide range of members own home grown plants for sale. Open to HPS members (free) and members of the public (£1 admission) 10.30am to 12.30pm in our usual venue, Stannington Village Hall.

Bring your surplus to requirement seedlings and plants for our big plant sale and seedling swap, and see if we have anything left from our public sale on the preceding Saturday! Also, we will hear a short talk by Heather Russell entitled Who is at Howick?, about the gardens at Howick Hall.
