Nottingham Group
About the Group
We are an active group with about 150 members. We organise a programme of winter meetings and summer outings for members. We have our own garden within a local park. Nottingham Group membership is open to all members of the national Hardy Plant Society for an additional £5.00 per year.
Winter Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Friday of the month from October until April in West Bridgford Community Hall at 7.30 p.m. An interesting and varied programme of guest speakers is arranged - see our programme page for details. Meetings are free for members of the Nottingham Group. Visitors are very welcome and the first visit is free of charge. Subsequently non-members pay £3.00 admission. Free refreshments are served at the end the meeting and we encourage members to stay to meet and talk gardening with fellow members.
Venue and directions
All meetings are now held at the West Bridgford Community Hall, Church Drive, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6AY. This is behind West Bridgford Police Station, which is a very large modern building. Turn down the road by the Police Station (Bridgford Road) and take the first left. (Map - the hall is at the green arrow. Summer Outings
In the summer, when there are no monthly meetings, we arrange three coach trips to inspirational gardens not generally open to the public. We usually visit three gardens often with the opportunity to buy plants there or at a nursery nearby. At least two of the outings take place on Saturdays. We get very positive feedback from members who consider the trips to be a good day out. In addition there is an annual evening visit to a local members garden. Members organise their own travel arrangements on these occasions.
