Half Hardy Group

About the Group

Formed in 1991, membership of the Half Hardy Group is open to all those who are fully paid-up members of the Hardy Plant Society. It draws its members mainly from the UK but also Europe, USA, Canada and the Far East. Group members are interested in growing a wide range of half hardy plants from all corners of the world including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, California, Chile and the Mediterranean.

Activity Reports

Borderlines

An illustrated journal of 36 pages is published twice a year, covering a broad range of topics describing different genera, propagation techniques, cultivation and hardiness. Also included are articles discussing public and private gardens both at home and overseas. Due to the wide geographical distribution of the membership, the journal is the main avenue of communication and can be used for the exchange of information and ideas

Seed Distribution

Seed donations come in from the membership each autumn and are sorted, packaged and stored. A seed list is then compiled and sent out with the January issue of Borderlines. Packets of seed are supplied free to members on request (mint stamps required for return postage).
