Following on from the success of being awarded a Gold Medal at the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show in 2009, The Hardy Plant Society has also been awarded the RHS’s Holford Medal. The medal was received from the RHS’s President, Giles Coode-Adams OBE DL by Sue Ward and Monica Gerhold at the RHS’s Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday evening, February 15th 2010 at the RHS’s Lawrence Hall in London.

The Holford Medal was presented to the RHS by the Executors of the late Sir George Holford in 1928, and it is awarded annually for the best exhibit of plants and/or flowers staged by an amateur or group of amateurs. This prestigious award is made for best in category across all RHS shows held during the year.

The Holford Award was given this year for The HPS’s stand at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2009.

Also in attendance were the HPS’s President, Roy Lancaster OBE VMH and Denis Watson, the HPS’s Shows Co-ordinator.
