Evergreen rhizomatous perennial.

Clusters of deep pink flowers.

Evergreen. Large rounded, fleshy mid-green leaves, colouring red in winter.

Flowering Time
March and possibly autumn.

Soil type
Any soil.

Full sun or part-shade

Pests and diseases
Leaves may be damaged by slugs and snails or adult vine weevils, whilst weevil grubs may eat away the rhizome.

Remove dead foliage and cut back elongated stems to keep plant tidy.

Propagate by rooting pieces of stem/rhizome detached from the main plant.
