Chelsea 2017: BBC's Video Clip

Update 8 September:

Update 26 May: Our stand was featured on BBC2 on Thursday 25 at about 8.40 pm.  Here are the plants we used on the stand. Some of them will be available at the Worcestershire Group plant sale on 10 June.

Update 23 May: Silver-Gilt and we are thrilled!

We're expecting the BBC to film again this week. John will be interviewed by James Wong, most likely for a Thursday or Friday evening slot, to be shown with earlier filming at the nursery.

16 May:

Final arrangements are being made for the Hardy Plant Society stand at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Worcestershire Group is providing the display – with the theme of 60 plants for 60 years, to mark the diamond jubilee of the society. The circular, revolving stand was delivered to the Chelsea site on Tuesday, May 16 with the plants following on Thursday.

And you can look out for us on the BBC during Chelsea week.

They sent a production team to spend a day with us, filming members from the group to tell the back story to the exhibit and it is hoped that the five-minute film will be shown during the hour-long BBC daily highlights show. Exact details of which day have not been finalised – but currently it is hoped it will be shown on the Thursday evening of the show.

The BBC team filming in one of the polytunnels at the Offenham nursery. John McGhee, who leads the Worcestershire team producing the stand, and Linda Marsh, who designed the planting, are seen being interviewed.

Worcestershire members Hilda Watts, in the green coat, and Jess Porter being filmed for the BBC2 programme.

Read more about the stand on the Worcestershire Group website. Find out about the plants used from the plant list.

I'd like to echo that sentiment. Well done the Worcestershire Group team, a very impressive appearance on the Chelsea TV coverage, and a great display. I am going to be referring to your plant list many times - how useful to have horticultural details as well as pictures for each. Reply to this comment

Dear Sheila. For all the Malvern Shows I have ensured we had a full list of plants and where possible a picture. I had observed from other stands that visitors would be scrambling for a pencil to note the plants. As you rightly observe people can refer back to the list . Many thanks for your comments. John
